Why do I see multiple IBANS for my account?

Banking Circle will issue a single account number that supports multiple IBAN formats (DK, DE, LU, GB), enabling your customers to make payments across various branch jurisdictions. Each IBAN variation is linked to the same underlying account, which features static account data. While the differing IBAN formats may give the impression of separate accounts, they all correspond to the same account.

Depending on the type of payment you expect to receive, you may choose to share a specific IBAN variation with your customers or provide all available options

IBAN Variations per branch:

DE: Germany   DK:  Denmark

LU: Luxembourg   GB: United Kingdom

Example of static account

The last 8 digits of your IBAN will always stay the same. This means it’s the same account, even if the IBAN looks different depending on the country or branch.

Here are some examples:

  • LU40 4080 0000 0001 2345
  • DK30 8900 0000 0123 45
  • GB34 SAPY 6083 8200 0123 45
  • DE10 2022 0800 0000 0123 45

As you can see, the ending 12345678 stays the same confirming it’s one account, just accessible through different IBAN formats, allowing alternate routing options.
